Greetings fellow BRONCOS! I am super excited and proud as your Bret Harte Community Club (BHCC) president this school year 2021-2022.
First of all, a warm welcome to all returning and new Broncos families! Due to the global pandemic, we had an unpredictable 2020-2021 school year. We learned so much during last year and we are starting this 2021-2022 school year with increased positivity and courage. To all who are new Broncos families, Bret Harte Community Club (BHCC) is a non-profit volunteer organization with a large and enthusiastic group of parent volunteers. BHCC is actively involved in organizing and financially supporting various activities, classroom needs and events inside as well as outside the classroom at Bret Harte. We organize, sponsor, and fund classroom and school instructional Needs and Supplies, Technology, Project Cornerstone, Award Nights, Staff Appreciation, 8th Grade Promotion among others. BHCC also organizes and manages parent volunteers during lunch at the SNAC Store and Lunch Carts, Student Bronco Nights, Cultural Fair, and School Library. This year, we would like to continue to offer as many of these events and programs as possible. Our primary goal this year is to nurture Bret Harte pride and spirit and to strengthen the Bronco community.
Throughout the school year, not only do we host fun and educational events and workshops for both students and parents such as Book Fair, Cultural Fair, Math Olympics and Project Cornerstone, but also provide funds and volunteers for our teachers and staff. Please stay tuned for the upcoming announcements for year-round events. Please don’t forget to check BHCC calendar for all the updates!
All of the above programs take hard work and dedication of our community club members. We all want the best education and experience for our children. That’s why we all individually need to do what we can to make it happen. Whether it is an idea, 30 minute or an hour on campus or after work, your involvement is truly needed. By volunteering , you get the chance to interact with kids, make friends with fellow BRONCOS parents and help accomplish things that truly make a difference in the lives of all our students. We are in immediate need of some of our committee chairs. Please refer to open positions. Our team will work with all volunteers to match their available time and skills.
The Bret Harte Community Club Donation Drive has begun! Our programs cannot be successful without your generous support. We are asking each family to donate $250 per student or any amount in order to help us reach our annual goal. Also, don’t forget company match for your donation. Thanks to all the families that have already donated to the Bret Harte Community Club Donation Drive!
On behalf of the entire Bret Harte Community Club executive board, we’d like to thank you in advance for your support. Feel free to join BHCC Board meeting zoom call every 3Rd Tuesday at 9:30 am.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach us at [email protected].
BHCC is excited to welcome all Bret Harte staff back to school for the 2021-2022 school year. We kicked off the year with a staff appreciation lunch on August 16, 2021. The lunch was catered from Sandwich Mill and included boxed lunch and salad, with bagged chips, assorted cookies, and sparkling water. Thanks to all the parents who donated and thanks to Belinda for helping with the set up. We look forward to a safe and wonderful school year as well as thank our excellent Bret Harte Middle school staff for all that they do!
We are also looking to fill open volunteer positions for the 2021-2022 school year. Please sign up for any position that matches your interest. This is a great way to know the Bronco community.
