Membership Drive
Our financial support of the school is made possible through the generous contributions of parents during our “Build a Better Bret Harte” Donation Drive that starts at the beginning of the school year.
Donations enhance the learning environment for both students and teachers, and fund programs that are not covered by the school or district budgets. BHCC funds teacher requests such as new books, supplies and technology, after-school programming classes, 8th grade promotion ceremony & dance, staff appreciation luncheons, book fairs, Career Day, Everyday Heroes and the Cornerstone program as well as many other things. This past school year, we launched our after-school programming classes that nearly 100 Bret Harte students participated in. This year, we are offering more programming classes and a new Strings program for students interested in string instruments. To support these programs, our goal is to collect $240 per student, but a donation of any amount is appreciated. One way to increase your donation is to check with your employer about corporate matching. Many Silicon Valley businesses do have a non-profit matching program. Please check with your business and reference our non-profit, Bret Harte Educational Association, Tax ID #77-0342966. If you’d like to make a donation please use the online donation form.
