Welcome Letter from Bret Harte Community Club Co-presidents
Greetings fellow BRONCOS! We are so excited and proud as your Bret Harte Community Club (BHCC) co-presidents this school year.
First of all, welcome all returning and new Broncos families! To all who are new to Broncos families, Bret Harte Community Club is a non-profit organization which supports the students, parents, teachers, and staff of Bret Harte Middle School. Together with an amazing group of parent volunteers, a dedicated Bret Harte Community Club Executive Board, our wonderful teachers, and Principal, the Bret Harte Community Club is an integral part of the Bret Harte family.
Throughout the school year, not only do we host fun and educational events and workshops for both students and parents such as Book Fair, Cultural Fair, Math Olympics and Project Cornerstone, but also we provide funds and volunteers for our teachers and staff. Please stay tuned for the upcoming announcement of all year events.
All of the above takes hard work and dedication of our community club members. We all want the best education and experience for our children. That’s why we all individually need to do what we can to make it happen. Whether it is an idea, 30 minutes or an hour on campus or after work, your involvement is truly needed. By volunteering at our school, you get the chance to interact with kids, make friends with fellow BRONOCS parents and help accomplish things that truly make a difference in the lives of all our students. We can match your time and interest with the needed tasks. Please reach out to us for volunteering opportunities!
The Bret Harte Community Club Donation Drive has begun! Our programs cannot be successful without your generous support. We are hoping each family can donate $250 per child in order to help us reach our $50,000 goal. Thanks to all the families that have already donated to the Bret Harte Community Club Donation Drive!
On behalf of the entire Bret Harte Community Club executive board, we’d like to thank you in advance for your support. See you at our first general meeting on September 12, 2018, immediately after Back to School Night.
Sincerely,
Yael Kharman and Yunyun Jiang
Co-President, BHCC, 18’-19’
The Bret Harte Community Club (BHCC) is a non-profit volunteer organization. With a large and enthusiastic group of parent volunteers, BHCC serves to support the students, parents, teachers, and staff at Bret Harte Middle School.
BHCC board meetings are held every 3rd Tuesday of the month in SDR (Staff Dining Room) at 9:30 am. Our next board meeting is Sept. 18, 2018. Everyone is welcome to come to the meeting and participate in the discussions. It's a great way to know fellow Bret Harte parents, learn about what is happening at school, and hear updates from Bret Harte Principal.
Besides the meetings, BHCC holds fun and educational events and workshops throughout the year. For details, please check the BHCC event list in this newsletter, and make sure to mark your calendar.

Only through your generous donation are we able to enrich Bret Harte Community programs. Your donations will help support our students, teachers, staff and various school programs. We are hoping each family can donate $250 per child in order to help us reach our $50,000 goal. Please download the form or follow the donation link at our website. Your donation may double if your company offers corporate matching. Please contact your employer’s human resources department to find out if they will match your donation. Thank you!
Research shows the students whose parents involved in their education have better grades and fewer discipline problems. We promise the donation and time you contribute to the Bret Harte community will be worthwhile!
